We go visit farms ourselves to curate small releases from various regions in Japan so you get to enjoy a variety of Ceremonial Grade Matcha and Hojicha. We only settle for top quality, even if it takes longer. This is about craft, connection and ritual.

Preparing the perfect matcha

  • 1. Scoop and sift

    Measure out 2-4g of matcha powder and sift into your whisking bowl.

  • 2. Whisk and froth

    Add in 30g of cold water. Whisk in a zig zag motion until frothy. Tip: pre-soak your whisk for 2min to soften the bristles.

  • 3. Pour and Sip

    Top up with 100ml of hot water then pour into a mug. Add steamed milk to taste for a latte. You can add sweetner but our matcha already has subtle natural sweet notes.

Where is your matcha from?

We spent a month in Japan and visited various farmers in different regions. After getting to know them, their farming organic methods and processes, we only select the best products to bring back to South Africa in small seasonal releases. All our products come directly from farms in Japan straight to South Africa. No middlemen.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! For all orders over R1 000 we offer free shipping to all main regions within South Africa.

If you order is less than R1 000 a shipping cost of R79 will apply

How long does shipping take?

Once you have placed your order online we will take between 1 and 3 days to process your order and have it collected by one of our delivery partners.  You will receive a notification email once your order has been collected and is on its way to you.  Most deliveries happen within 1-3 days, but can take longer if you are in an outlying area or not in South Africa.  

Where do you ship to?

We use CourierGuy for all our shipments and therefore we can deliver to anywhere in South Africa with a valid physical address.

Can I collect my order?

Stock dependent and if you’re in the Somerset West or Strand area (Western Cape), you can choose Café Pickup at checkout.

For now, we have one pickup café that stocks our products for collection: 

Ekhaya Coffee Roasters.

Can I return after buying?

This is product dependent.

All Matcha or Hojicha products:
No. Since Matcha and our other products are sensitive to heat and sunlight, we can't accept any returns. Each product is made to order and sealed airtight to keep it's freshness. We only use trusted delivery partners.
