This website is operated by MotherMatcha. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to MotherMatcha. We offer this website, including all information, tools, and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies, and notices stated here.

By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink (such as our Return & Refund Policy).

2. Eligibility & Shop Use

  • Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides us with the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you.

  • By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your province or state of residence.

  • You may not use our products for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, nor may you violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws).

3. Products, Pricing, & Accuracy

  • Stock & Availability: We source our premium ceremonial-grade Matcha and Hojicha in small, fresh batches directly from Japan. Because of this, certain products or accessories (like our handcrafted bowls or whisks) may have limited quantities.

  • Pricing Changes: Prices for our products are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any product or service at any time.

  • Aesthetic Representations: We make every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors and images of our products (including the vibrant green of our matcha and the details of our ceramic bowls). However, we cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any color will be perfectly accurate.

4. Billing & Account Information

We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household, or per order.

  • You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made at our store.

  • You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address and credit card numbers/expiration dates, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.

     

5. Shipping & Delivery

  • We deliver across South Africa using reputable third-party couriers.

     

  • While we pack and dispatch your orders with absolute care, delivery times are estimates provided by the courier services and are outside of our direct control.

  • Risk of loss and title for items purchased pass to you upon our delivery to the courier.

6. Returns, Refunds, & Consumables

Your purchases are subject to our Return & Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms:

  • Consumables (Matcha & Hojicha): Strictly final sale and non-returnable once shipped due to safety, hygiene, and product integrity reasons.

  • Accessories (Whisks, Bowls, etc.): Returnable within 30 days post-purchase, provided they are completely unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging.

  • Return Shipping: All return shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer. We recommend using a trackable courier service.

  • Damaged Goods: If an item arrives damaged, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photo proof so we can arrange a replacement.

7. Intellectual Property

All content included on this site—such as text, graphics, logos, images, copy, and product descriptions—is the property of MotherMatcha and is protected by South African and international copyright laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or republish any portion of our website or brand assets without our explicit written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

MotherMatcha, our directors, or partners will not be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind arising from your use of any of our services or products. This includes, but is not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the service or any product posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the service.
